Each of the Canadian Institute of Floral Design’s instructors, directors, board and faculty has a minimum of 20 years of floral shop practices and design experience and make themselves available to CIFD students. The three week 105 hour intensive foundational program, has seen many students come from all corners of the globe.

The Introductory Business Management course for the Professional Retail florist program is a companion to the foundational design instruction and helps the student who may be considering a floral management position or the floral entrepreneur a ‘behind the scenes look’ at the day to day operation of a retail florist department or store.

The curriculum at CIFD has been developed to enable the student to learn not only the basics of floral, but

also as an opportunity to see their own creativity emerge. We offer other courses for both the professional floral designer and the hobbyist. Seasonal design workshops for the holidays; weddings; and other special interest courses keep you honing your skills. The floral industry is linked very closely to trends in interior design and reflects and interprets these same trends through the use of color, form and the integration of organic materials.
